Three-day Training for Local Working Groups (LWG) was Hosted by CENN Green Center

Another training was held on advocacy campaign planning for members of LWGs from Adjara, Imereti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, created by CENN.  The LWGs are composed of representatives of local municipalities, local non-governmental organizations, Rural Women’s Councils and community members from mining effected regions.

 

The main subject of the training was how to plan on-site advocacy campaigns. Participants were familiarized with community mobilization procedures and on-site campaign planning methods for community advocacy purposes.

 

The aim of the training was to enhance the knowledge and capability of community leaders and members of LWGs in order to ensure more effective advocacy campaign planning and implementation.

 

The training was organized within the CENN regional project, Promoting Environmental and Social Accountability in the Mining Sector in the Caucasus. The goal of the project is to reduce poverty, enhance environmental education and awareness, enhance environmental and social security related to mining activities and foster sustainable rural development.

 

The project is being implemented with the financial support of the German fund, Bread for the World.
