TOT training meetings in Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti and Imereti have been successfully completed, with more than 4 meetings in each region for more than 300 participants.
The main priority of the trainings was to introduce the structural technology of “Raw Water extraction and processing.” The training of TOT trainers was implemented via a specially designed training module and presentation by WaSH council members and leaders established in the regions. WaSH Councils ensured the involvement and interest of the public and stakeholders in the training. The main topics of the meetings focused on the meaning of the term “WaSH” and its necessity in everyday life, as well as on water extraction, water processing and filtering equipment and irrigation systems.
The training participants were able to obtain the following information from the trainers:
• Water turnover cycle;
• Raw water extraction methods;
• Raw water treatment and consumption;
• Coagulation, chemical disinfection of water and laboratory water analysis.
The trainings by TOT trainers in 3 regions of Georgia (Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti and Imereti) started on September 9, 2019 covering almost all municipalities. The trainings were finished on 6 November 2019.
These meetings were held within the framework of CENN’s WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) project, ” Upscaling WASH Initiatives by Providing Essential Social Services for Women and Youth in Disadvantaged Rural Communities of Georgia” funded by the Global Water Challenge and Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF) in the regions of Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti and Imereti.
The goal of the project is to promote the health and living conditions of vulnerable multi-ethnic communities, provide access to water, raise awareness and establish WaSH standards in a participatory manner.
