On July 4, 2019, CENN carried out meetings with WASH stakeholders in Gardabani municipality. The CENN team met with Gardabani Municipality Mayor, Ramaz Budaghashvili, in which the main activities of the project and the formation of the WASH Councils were discussed.
The meeting included an overview of the project “Upscaling WASH Initiatives by Providing Essential Social Services for Women and Youth in Disadvantaged Rural Communities of Georgia” and establishing WaSH councils in Gardabani municipality. Furthermore, a future mode of operation with the WaSH council members were discussed and possible new initiatives were considered.
The main goal of the project is to promote health care and living conditions for socially vulnerable multi-ethnic communities, prevent discrimination, establish access to water and WASH standards through stakeholder involvement.
The project “Upscaling WASH Initiatives by Providing Essential Social Services for Women and Youth in Disadvantaged Rural Communities of Georgia” is implemented by CENN with financial support provided by the New World Programme, established by the Global Water Challenge (GWC) and the Coca Cola Foundation (TCCF)
