On July 19th, 2019, CENN carried out meetings with WASH stakeholders in Chiatura municipality. The CENN team met with Chiatura Municipality Mayor, where the main activities of the project and the formation of the WASH Councils were discussed.
The meeting included an overview of the project “Upscaling WASH Initiatives by Providing Essential Social Services for Women and Youth in Disadvantaged Rural Communities of Georgia” and establishing five WaSH councils in the Imereti region. Furthermore, a future mode of operation with the WaSH council members were discussed and possible new initiatives were considered.
The main goal of the project is to promote health care and living conditions for socially vulnerable multi-ethnic communities, prevent discrimination, establish access to water and WASH standards through stakeholder involvement.
