Paper Waste Collection Competition for Schools

The USAID Program, Waste Management Technology in Regions, Phase II (USAID WMTR II/ CENN), has announced a paper waste collection competition for schools in the regions of Kakheti, Adjara, Shida Kartli and the city of Tbilisi.

A group of at least 5 students and 1 teacher from the schools in the aforementioned target regions can participate in the competition. They must collect paper waste for one month (at a later date this waste will be provided to recycling companies via the USAID WMTR II program) and by doing this, they support the introduction of separated waste collection in the country.

To participate in the competition, interested groups must register by November 16 at the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/GhqJxSdzz2COkFhg2.

The registered groups have until December 16 to collect paper waste.

The 5 groups that collect the largest amount of paper waste – representatives from the program will visit all schools that participate in the competition and weigh the collected paper waste on the spot – will receive a voucher to participate in a three-day winter eco camp at Bulachauri Green Centre. During this eco camp, participants will have the opportunity to participate in many interesting and interactive educational and informative activities.

The first three winning groups will be awarded with valuable prizes.
