Waste Management Technology in Regions, Phase II (WMTR II), implemented by CENN with the support of USAID, continues to conduct training sessions concerning waste management at schools in Tbilisi. During the period of May 15-17, the WMTR II team conducted trainings about waste management challenges and opportunities at the First Experimental School, Public School #195, Italian School and European School of Tbilisi.
The trainings concerned general waste management systems in both Europe and Georgia and focused on specific modern challenges, such as plastic waste pollution in Georgia and the rest of the world. The trainings were followed by a discussion on how it is possible to reduce the adverse environmental impact resulting from human activity and consumption. Students were educated on how they can reduce waste in their everyday lives. The discussion also encouraged students to reuse old items, separate waste and recycle.
