Tkibuli to Have a Modern Eco Hub

CENN has embarked on a new nationwide initiative on opening Eco hubs for the young in schools and libraries, planning to open up to ten Eco Hubs in Georgia. After Bolnisi, Telavi and Batumi, Tkibuli will get a new eco hub, which is set to open in students’ youth center. The Eco hub is to start functioning through the joint forces of CENN and Tkibuli’s “Saknakhshiri”.

“Saknakhshiri” administration expressed their willingness and goodwill to part take in the establishment of the Eco hub and its development. Therefore, a decision was made that “Saknakhshiri” would carry out all repairs for the building, whereas CENN is to supply the hub with modern technologies and environmental literature.

The Eco hubs will also be constructed in three schools winning the “Niko Ketskhoveli 2017” competition, as well as in those, actively involved.
Youth Eco hubs in Georgian regions will support raising the students’ environmental awareness, increase their involvement in various ecological problems and implement rural development principles.

The eco hub is going to be made up of high school students and teachers, who are to become CENN’s electronic mailing subscribers and shall receive up to date environmental news. Tkibuli Eco Hub is planned to open in September 2017.

The initiative is implemented within Sustainable Forest Management in Georgia, a project funded by Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
